Montana Shed Center Limited Warranty

Montana Shed Center (MSC) stands by our quality and warrants the original purchaser that your MSC storage building is free of defects in workmanship upon delivery and aims to provide you with the assurance you need when making your purchase. The warranty is to the original purchaser (buyer) and may not be transferred to any subsequent purchasers

MSC Warranty Coverage

This limited warranty covers defects in workmanship for up to 10 years and must be reported within the first 30 days upon discovery. MSC will repair any imperfections in workmanship that impair the use of the product or is deemed unacceptable by the Reasonable Person Standard.

Limits of liability and Exclusions

Montana Shed Center’s (MSC) liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective products, up to the original purchase price. All other warranties, express or implied—including those of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose—are disclaimed. MSC has no liability for punitive, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages, including damage to the building’s contents or lost profits. The total liability of MSC, including labor, is limited to the building’s original purchase price. MSC does not authorize any other person to assume liability in connection with the sale of this building.

This warranty does not apply to any MSC product or part damaged by fire, flood, water, earthquake, earth movement, hail, wind, rot, termites, insects, vegetation, sprinklers, adverse weather, vandalism, theft, acts of God, accidents, or other casualties customarily covered by homeowners’ insurance. Normal wood characteristics—such as splitting, warping, twisting, and imperfections from treated wood—are not covered. Additionally, preowned, economy, and clearance products are excluded from warranty coverage.

The warranty does not cover:

• Damage caused by abuse, misuse, alteration, unauthorized movement, neglect, normal wear and tear, or improper maintenance.
• Issues from uneven or unstable foundations or pads, which must be level and prepared by the customer before installation.
• Stain, paint, or paint adherence issues, broken windows, lost keys, and doorknob replacements.
• Onsite projects that are not built in MSC production facilities and used buildings.

This limited warranty covers only defects in workmanship and excludes any product or part discarded by the customer or altered without MSC’s authorization. The warranty becomes void if the building is modified in ways that alter its original structure or convert it into a finished space (e.g., adding climate control, sheetrock, insulation, or other finishes not performed at an MSC manufacturing plant).

Some materials in your building may have warranties from their manufacturers; these are not covered or serviced by MSC. The terms “Original Purchaser” and “Buyer” refer to the person for whom the MSC product was originally assembled and installed, and the warranty does not transfer to subsequent owners. This warranty applies only within the Continental United States.

The Buyer acknowledges that no other representations or warranties regarding product quality or function were relied upon beyond those stated here. Some states do not permit limitations on implied warranty durations or exclusions of incidental or consequential damages, so certain terms may not apply. This warranty provides specific legal rights, and additional rights may vary by state.

All warranties are contingent upon payment in full according to the contract terms.

To keep this warranty valid, the customer must take reasonable steps to care for the building, as outlined in the following “Your Responsibility” section.

Your Responsibility: 

The above warranties are subject to the following conditions:

1. You must retain your sales order and proof of purchase.
2. Notify Montana Shed Center within 30 days of discovering a defect in your shed as outlined in the Warranty Claims section below.
3. All warranty servicing of the product must be made by Montana Shed Center or its agent unless otherwise approved by Montana Shed Center.
4. Repainting exterior surfaces of the building to avoid exposure to the elements.
5. Adjusting door and window latches as needed.
6. Maintain the grounds surrounding the building to keep vegetation under control that could damage the unit, or snow away from the doors that could cause warpage.
7. Keep the area under and around your shed drained and dry.
8. Re-leveling adjustments from natural settling due to ground conditions.

discounted & Damaged buildings sold “as-is” from your local sales lot

If your Montana Shed Center (MSC) product was damaged due to adverse weather conditions at an MSC sales lot or authorized dealer location before your purchase, this warranty is limited to defects in workmanship.

Discounted Inventory is not covered by warranty and is sold as-is.

All Inventory buildings older than one year are not covered by warranty and are sold as-is.

Warranty Claims

To file a warranty claim, fill out the online Warranty Claim Form on our website, within 30 days of finding a defect. You’ll need to provide pictures, proof of maintenance, and proof of purchase.
