Why A Garden Makes Sense

Greenhouse gardening

There are many uncertainties in our world, so it makes sense to think about taking control of your own food supply. Having your own garden provides many opportunities.

  • Ensure quality produce
  • Learn important life skills
  • The ability to be self-sufficient
  • Community

You are in control of the quality of our food.

With your own garden, you know what goes into the soil and on the product. You can plant the exact seed you want. With some learning, you can grow true organic produce without GMO seeds.

Gardening teaches life skills.

Growing a garden is also a good way to learn about life itself. In our fast-paced world, we get instant gratification. We want something to eat, and there are fast foods, microwaves, and grocery stores. However, so many good things take time and effort to receive. Planting a garden teaches this lesson well. It can be a great tool for teaching children delayed gratification and discipline to receive great rewards.

A feeling of security comes from independence.

Today most people don’t know how to take care of themselves. We rely on a network of suppliers to make life convenient, but would we fail to know what to do if something goes wrong? If a natural disaster takes place, are we able to obtain food? Some people these days can’t even do math without a calculator. In other words, most of us would be lost if we faced life without technology.

Healthy food and a healthy community.

Gardening can also bring people together in a non-virtual way. There are opportunities for community gardens or to co-op with other gardeners. Community gardening is where people share a plot of land and work. A Co-op is where people trade with others for produce, especially for things one cannot produce. Of course, all this is not limited to the produce. Farming with animals can be added to the mix also.

Shed and greenhouses are part of gardening.

Being a shed company, we can’t forgo talking about sheds and greenhouses. In our market, the growing season is short, so getting a head start is good. Another thing is a place to keep your tools and planting supplies. An unorganized and messy area makes gardening a less enjoyable experience. Do you need a greenhouse and a shed? We can build one of those too.

Anyway, we hope you have a happy and healthy life.
